Business in West Yellowstone has many rewarding and unique aspects but there are a few things you need to know prior to opening up shop!

To conduct business in the Town of West Yellowstone you must have a current Town business license. The business license season starts on June 1st and expires on May 31st.  Renewal transactions may take place starting March 1st.  New business applications are welcome at anytime of the year.

The Town of West Yellowstone imposes a 3% Resort Tax that must be collected upon sale of all items (see FORMS page for exemptions.)  A refundable $500 bond must be submitted with the business license application to facilitate compliance with Resort Tax collections.

Lodging facilities having 10 or more rooms are required to collect an additional $1 per room night to fund the Tourism and Business Improvement District.
