The Administration and Finance Office (often referred to as the Town Offices) are the central hub of the Town of West Yellowstone. These offices are staffed by the Town Clerk, Deputy Town Clerk, Finance Director, and Operations Manager. Services provided to the public from the Administration and Finance Office include utility billing and collection, business licensing, resort tax, TBID, and recreation fees collection. The staff is also responsible for Town Council meeting preparations, the annual budget, accounts payable, maintaining the records of the Town, personnel and payroll tasks, and providing basic information for both residents and visitors.
The West Yellowstone City Court is a Court of Limited Jurisdiction and is one of the 61 Justice Courts, 84 City Courts and 6 Municipal Courts within the State of Montana. City Court handles upwards of 400 cases annually, including misdemeanor offenses, civil cases for amounts up to $12,000, small claims valued up to $7,000, landlord/tenant disputes, local ordinances, forcible entry and detainer, protection orders, certain issues involving juveniles, and other matters.
The West Yellowstone Police Department is operational 24/7. The department consists of a Chief, Sergeant, SRO officer and three officers. We assist our residents as well as our visitors with any concerns that may arise so they both can enjoy a good quality of life while living or visiting our Town.
