Social Services

Overview

The Job and Social Services Office provide a variety of services to both residents of and visitors to West Yellowstone. The office has resources to assist people with vital needs such as food, clothing, health care, and job referrals. Everyone is welcome to visit the office located in the Town Hall at 440 Yellowstone Avenue.

Staff

The Office is staffed by a full–time Social Services Coordinator and a full- time Social Services Assistant.  Social Services Coordinatior, Kathi Arnado.

Hours

The office is generally open from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, but actual hours of operation are posted on the door and may vary depending on out-of-office responsibilities.

On March 13, 2017, the food bank will be open between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.  All other services will not be available that day due to Kathi being out of the office.

The Food Bank is open during regular office hours whenever both staff members are in the office. .

Additional information

Emergency food supplies are available for needy individuals and families and may receive them from the food bank.

Donations of clothing and small household items are  being accepted Tuesday 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Thursday 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.  These are also the days and times for pick up.  We are still accepting food donations for the food bank and will receive those donations at the office during regular business hours; tax receipts will be provided for your generosity.

A satellite of the Montana Job Service Center is operated from the office which specializes in helping people with job searches, resumes, and applications as well as assisting with unemployment claims and labor law questions.

The office provides information on immunizations and schedules appointments with the Gallatin County Public Health Nurse. The staff also assists with Montana Medicaid and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program applications and handles Child and Adult Protective Services referrals.  As well, staff administers the Community Help Fund and the Crime Victims’ Compensation Fund.

As a result of the affordable care act information on Montana Insurance Market Place will be available on October 1st 2013 along with directions on whom to contact for enrollment.
